Unlock True Happiness: Discover the Secret in What You Already Have

⭐️Find joy in the present and embrace what’s yours

It took me decades to learn to live my life this way, and it was literally life-changing.

When you don’t feel like something is missing in your life, that’s when you have true happiness. Often, we put so much focus on what we want that we forget to be grateful for what we already have.

Learning to let go of expectations and live in the moment is the only way to truly find peace of mind and happiness. When you constantly wish for things to be different, being content where you are is 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄.

That doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t strive for more, better, or different things. It just means you must learn to be grateful for what you have RIGHT NOW. You can’t make your happiness dependent on those things you ‘need’ because there will always be something new or better to desire.

⭐️Simply put: If you can’t be happy here and now, you won’t be in the future.

I spent so much of my life wishing I could walk. I put infinite time and energy into trying to make that happen. I didn’t believe I could be happy living my life in a wheelchair.

The thing is, when I stopped long enough to look around at the incredible life I had built while doing that, I saw so much more. I put so much weight on being able-bodied that I never took the time to understand how truly fortunate I already am.

Of course, I would love to be walking, but not having that ability no longer hinders my ability to love my life authentically. Once I changed how I looked at my life - to let go of expectations and accept it for what it is - an alternate version of the beautiful life I once wished for, I could find peace. I was able 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 and be thankful for the life I have.

When you release your expectations and become open-minded enough to love those around you for who they are, not who you want them to be. Accept your circumstances as they are, not what you wish they were. To be grateful for everything you have in this moment, even if it’s not what you thought it would be.

That’s when you will find happiness. 💕
