Sick & Tired of Just Getting By?
⭐ Learn to THRIVE
I was recently asked to explain the difference between surviving and thriving. Of course, I was happy to dive into that because it’s literally what I help others do.
⭐️𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 is about ‘getting through’ something. It’s the bare minimum for staying alive and making it through each day. I am not downplaying anyone who is a “survivor.” Surviving any kind of trauma or life-altering event is an achievement in itself.
So, if you’re a survivor of any kind, pat yourself on the back because you made it! You’re here, living, and you can even share your story and help others if that’s what you choose to do.
𝐁𝐔𝐓….
Surviving isn’t always enough. In my humble opinion, being a survivor is incredible, but now that you’ve learned the value of life and all It has to offer, don’t you want to 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄?
⭐️Thriving is about 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 —not just being alive and surviving each moment but 𝐄𝐍𝐉𝐎𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 them, too. It’s about embracing life and understanding that there is so much out there for you to experience and enjoy regardless of your means and abilities.
⭐️Thriving is going beyond the norms and the baseline of survival. It’s about exploring the world around you; for some, that may mean traveling to the ends of the earth. To others, it’s simply sitting by the shore and listening to the ocean.
You’ve survived. That’s a huge accomplishment. I know this firsthand; some days, just getting out of bed is an accomplishment. Everything is relative.
What is not relative is the importance of truly living your life. Sure, there may be things out of your reach in some way, but 𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑦 𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑖𝑛.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Many times, it’s a process to get there, but putting in the effort is crucial. It takes just as much energy to be angry and resentful as it does to get out and do something that brings you joy.
Something else I can tell you from firsthand experience:
⭐️Even the mere act of 𝐓𝐑𝐘𝐈𝐍𝐆 will make you feel a million times better than wallowing in your self-pity. And that small gesture will spark even the slightest bit of hope and excitement. It will build your self-confidence and begin a chain reaction to what may become a genuinely more fulfilling life.
Maybe it won’t be the life you always dreamed of, but it will be so much better than merely surviving day to day.
