Scared? Good. Do It Anyway!
⭐️Feel the Fear, Do It Anyway: How to Take Action Despite Doubt.
I don’t want to brag or anything, but I come up with a lot of good ideas—I am full of them. I can brainstorm for hours and make plans to turn those dreams into reality.
The step I have fallen short on so many times is TAKING ACTION.
You see, no matter how much meditating, planning, journaling, or medication in the world isn’t going to improve your life or help you reach your goals if you’re unwilling to take action or actively make changes.
That’s the scary part. Right before you take that leap of faith, when fear steps in, it’s so easy to pivot from running full speed ahead to turning right back into your comfort zone. That cozy place where even if you’re not where you want to be, you’re safe.
Fear isn’t a stop sign. It’s a sign that you’re growing.
You have to remember that even to get to where you are right now, you have already faced many fears along the way. At some point, you had to make a choice and take action that got you to this very place.
When you feel like you are made for more - or you can do better than right now, YOU CAN. The only thing standing between you and that new reality is your voice of self-doubt. Trust me, I know this voice well.
Learning to set that fear aside and listen to that ambitious go-getter inside of you is the hardest step in making any change. The voice you must allow to drown out the other so you don’t get ”stuck” in a place where you’re always wishing and wanting more.
We tend to imagine the ‘worst-case scenario’ in our minds, thinking about and running through all the ways we can fail or imagining all the hard work we need to do, becoming exhausted before even beginning. We find more reasons to stop before we start.
Believing in yourself, trusting in those great ideas and intentions, and knowing that if you are willing to push forward through fear and doubt, you may just achieve your goals.
Action shrinks fear. The more you take small steps forward, the less fear controls you. That momentum builds confidence and helps to continue pushing you forward. It’s a cycle that keeps repeating, getting you closer to your goal each time.
So, those ideas you wish you could follow through on, those dreams you wish you could make reality, they are absolutely possible. They’re just on the other side of fear. They’re right past the point where you decide to give up.
If you’ve been following long enough, I’m sure you’ve heard me use one of my favorite sayings: Nothing changes if nothing changes. I love this because it’s simple and true.
Change is always possible. Practice putting action behind those plans and see what happens.
