Free Yourself: Stop Living for Their Opinions!
⭐️Break free from judgment and start living life on your terms.
You may have heard a saying that’s been gaining popularity: “Let Them.”
I love Mel Robbins and how she’s branded this, but the concept is nothing new. It’s been around for a long time.
Years ago, it helped me positively shift my mindset and take ownership of my life. It worked wonders for learning to build confidence and self-worth.
If you haven’t heard, the general idea is that you can’t control what other people think or do. You need to stop making it your responsibility to manage or control others. Just… “let them.”
I love this theory and the simplicity of its latest evolution. Although millions of people are talking about it, many struggle with implementing it.
You cannot control the thoughts or actions of others. And spoiler alert, you certainly can’t control what they think of you.
There is something you CAN control, though: HOW IT AFFECTS YOU.
YOU have the power to decide how the thoughts and actions of others will affect you. YOU decide what to do with their opinions.
This is YOUR life, and it is up to YOU how to live it.
If you spend most of your time worrying about what others will think of your life choices and make your decisions based on that, whose life are you really living?
If you put your time and energy into creating a life other people want you to live, do you believe you can truly be happy?
If you choose to end a career or relationship but continue wondering what they’re doing without you, who will replace you, or why things were the way they were, what good is that doing for you?
To take ownership of your own life, you must let go of the idea that you can do the same for others. LET THEM live their lives and put that energy into living yours. LET THEM think you’re wrong, bad, dumb, or whatever they want because if you don’t let it affect you, it just doesn’t matter.
It’s okay to have a difference of opinion. Even if you have the utmost respect for those same people, you can’t grant them authority over YOUR actions and thoughts. Those are YOURS, and they only have that control if you give it to them.
So, yeah, let them. You do you. Don’t allow others to take up space in your head. You have your own life to live. 💕
Love,
Jess 💕
