Don't Just Sit There! Start Moving!
❓Remember that New Years' resolution you made to exercise and eat right? How’s that going?
‼️It’s one thing to say you’re going to do something but if you don’t make a plan and put 𝘼𝑪𝙏𝑰𝙊𝑵 behind your words, it’s not going to make a difference.
⭐️ I think many of us who lose someone or something tend to focus on the importance of recognizing that loss and in return, work extra hard to appreciate what and who we still have. I believe that’s why staying fit is a big part of my life.
⭐️You may or may not know this but I cannot use any muscles below my ribs. What I can do.. is anything else I can figure out. 😜 Sometimes I have to make modifications. Sometimes I have to ask for help. 𝘽𝑼𝙏 𝙄 𝙁𝑹𝙀𝑨𝙆𝑰𝙉𝑮 𝑫𝙊 𝙄𝑻.
⭐️All those ‘reasons’ you tell yourself you ‘can’t’ ? They’re actually 𝑵𝑶𝑻 reasons. 𝙏𝑯𝙀𝒀 𝑨𝙍𝑬 𝑬𝙓𝑪𝙐𝑺𝙀𝑺. I’m no mathematician but I bet at least 90% of the people reading this 𝑪𝑨𝑵 do 𝑺𝑶𝑴𝑬𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮.
❓Why else is staying fit and active important to me? (And why should it be to you)
⭐️My 𝗣𝗛𝗬𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 is vital. I 𝑵𝑬𝑬𝑫 to stay physically fit. I also 𝑾𝑨𝑵𝑻 to. It makes my life easier.
⭐️Being active and mobile is important to me. Having a balanced diet and helps me stay that way. It also fuels my body, aids in healing, and feeds my immune system.
⭐️As I learned the few times I was pregnant and well above my average weight, it was extremely difficult to get myself around. I have to lift and push myself a million times a day. The heavier I am, the harder that becomes, even impossible at times.
‼️A bonus: the more I focus on staying physically fit, the more it motivates me to eat well. What’s the point of putting in all that work on the outside if you’re not going to take care of your insides?
⭐️My 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 is equally as important. Working out - especially in the mornings, helps me clear my head. I personally release frustration, do some deep thinking and let out aggression that way. It also gets my endorphins pumping which improves my mood. It helps my mental focus and clarity throughout the day and even helps me sleep better at night.
⭐️And almost as important as everything else: 𝑰 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒊𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔.🤣 I want to be able to enjoy both comfortably. Working out and eating well regularly allow me to enjoy these as a gift to myself for my hard work. I’m not where I want to be 𝒀𝑬𝑻 but I’m actively working on getting there.
‼️And before you use lack of time as an excuse…
⭐️No, I don’t just have time to spare. I 𝑴𝑨𝑲𝑬 the time. Almost every day. I’ve done it for years and it became a habit, a routine and an essential part of my life. I find new and fun ways to get my body moving to keep it interesting and fresh.
‼️If none of these reasons motivate you, maybe this will:
⭐️𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗚𝗢𝗧 𝗜𝗧. Take care of your body. Learn from someone who used to take many of these things for granted. Physical and mental health are a luxury. You don’t want to wait until it’s too late to make 𝑺𝑬𝑳𝑭 𝑪𝑨𝑹𝑬 priority.
‼️If I can do it. You can do it too 💕
